Other local clubs are now following suit and some pay their registered squad with a stipend. Pune has also witnessed International friendlies involving India and can also boast of hosting Olympic Qualifiers for the country. Moreover the famous EPL club BlackBurn Rovers have their owners Venky's based in Pune !

Football is officially managed by PDFA Pune District Football AssociationĀ  at the city and district level. At the state level the sport is managed by WIFA Western India Football Association

How many of you know local heroes? Men and women who have represented their sport at national or state or even inter city level. Interested few know their achievements, but hardly anybody knows them, their stories, their sacrifices and their moments of glory. We believe that their stories need to be told. TIS Reviews

hey guys, this is really a superb initiative in highlighting the sports events and heroes that the media would give a miss (intentionally or not). Just a suggestion : How about having a section for the unsung sports heros (local/national), (current/past),. A section that would showcase their achievements. e.g. Chetan Baboor : Played national level at 16. Won 2 CWG gold. Arjun Award winner. Won national title 4 times. - Abhijeet
